Insider Tips

  • 🏪
Very limited services in town. Bosaro has a few trattorias but no ATM or pharmacy. Bring cash and anything you need before arrival; Rovigo has full facilities.
  • 🚴
Bring or hire a bike. Most river cruise operators organise bicycles onboard — confirm in advance. The flat terrain makes cycling ideal for all ages.
  • 🍚
Try Po Delta rice. The Polesine is famed for its PGI-certified rice; risotto with local ingredients (frog, eel, or freshwater fish) is the signature dish in local trattorias.
  • 🌡️
Fog and heat. Summers (June–Aug) are hot and humid; winters bring thick Po Valley fog. Spring and autumn offer the best cycling conditions.
  • 🦟
Mosquito season. The Po Delta's wetlands mean mosquitoes are active from May through September. Bring repellent if you plan to cycle or walk near the water.
