Calvi pairs a dramatic Genoese citadel on a clifftop with one of Corsica's finest beaches — and tender drop-off lands you smack in the middle of it all. Most of the port's highlights are an easy stroll from the quay.
Ships anchor in the Golfe de Calvi and run tenders to the marina quay — you step off into the heart of town.
💡 Pro move: No shuttle bus from tender pier — everything central is walkable.
All cruise ships tender into the Port de Plaisance marina; there is no dedicated cruise pier in Calvi.

Calvi rewards walkers and beach lovers independently, while the Scandola reserve and Balagne villages are best reached by boat or taxi tour.
Climb the cobblestone ramparts of this 13th-century Genoese fortress for 360° views of bay and mountains. Inside the walls: Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, Genoese mansions, and a small museum under the entrance porch.
Find Calvi citadel tours →UNESCO-listed volcanic cliffs, osprey nests, and turquoise caves accessible only by sea. Half-day boat excursions depart from Calvi marina and typically pass the Calanques de Piana en route.
Find Scandola boat tours →Six kilometres of soft white sand backed by a pine forest, within easy walk of the tender quay. Sun lounger hire, water sports, and seafood restaurants line the town end of the beach.
Find Calvi beach tours →An uphill trail (roughly 5 km round trip from town) leads to this hilltop chapel overlooking Calvi Bay and the Revellata peninsula. Clear days reveal the snow-capped mountains of the interior — one of the best viewpoints in northern Corsica. It can also be reached by a short taxi ride.
Find Corsica hiking tours →The hinterland villages of Lumio, Pigna, and Sant'Antonino perch on rocky hilltops above olive groves and maquis scrub. Corsican honey, charcuterie, and pottery fill the artisan shops. Best reached by taxi or organized excursion.
Find Balagne village tours →The Tramway de la Balagne hugs the coastline north to the pretty town of Île Rousse, passing small beaches and coves inaccessible by road. The covered market in Île Rousse sells Corsican produce.
Find Île Rousse day trips →Calvi's compact lower town and the citadel hill are highly walkable from the tender quay; the beach boardwalk extends east for several kilometres.
From the tender quay, walk north along Quai Landry, then climb the cobbled Rue Clemenceau up through the citadel gate. Explore the ramparts and the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, then descend via the western side back to the marina.
Head east from the marina along the pine-fringed boardwalk skirting Plage de Calvi. The path runs the length of the beach with views back to the citadel, and terminates near the Calvi airport perimeter. Turn around whenever you like.
