Ships anchor offshore and tender passengers directly to the main dock in Puerto Ayora. The dock lands you in the heart of town — no onward transfer needed.
Puerto Ayora is compact and walkable. The Charles Darwin Research Station, waterfront, shops, and restaurants are all within easy walking distance of the tender dock.
White pickup trucks serve as taxis on the island. Fares within Puerto Ayora are very cheap; trips into the Santa Cruz highlands (tortoise reserves, lava tunnels) cost more. Agree on fare before departure.
