VVR buses stop ~200 m from the passenger terminal at Mukran and connect to Sassnitz Busbahnhof in about 12–15 minutes. Line 29 runs every 30 minutes; line 22 runs hourly.
From late May to mid-October, the RE27 train connects Sassnitz ferry port to Bergen auf Rügen several times weekly, giving access to the island interior.
