Insider Tips

  • 🤿
Bring reef-safe sunscreen. Tivua is a protected reef environment — chemical sunscreens damage coral. Mineral (zinc-based) sunscreen only, or go without.
  • 🐢
Turtle nesting season: Oct–Apr. During this period the island becomes a sanctuary for nesting sea turtles — respect the roped-off nesting areas.
  • Don't miss the last tender. The island runs on a schedule tied to the ship's departure — check the posted last boat time and leave the water with plenty of time to spare.
  • 💵
Most packages are all-inclusive. Snorkel gear, lunch, and non-alcoholic drinks are typically included in cruise shore excursion packages. Confirm extras (scuba, spa) before booking.
  • 🌧️
Wet season: Nov–Apr. Fiji's wet season brings afternoon rain squalls, but they usually pass quickly. The water stays warm and the reef is still excellent.
